Helpful Information

Utilities

---Utility connections can take one week to one month to complete from the time you place the order. As a result, arrangements for utility connections should be made well in advance of your move.

Electricity/Natural Gas

Most of the homes in the metropolitan area are heated by natural gas, and virtually all of the communities in southeastern Wisconsin receive their gas and electricity from We Energies serves Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, Racine, Kenosha and Waukesha counties. For information about service connections, please call (800) 242-9137 or visit the company's Web site: www.we-energies.com.

Heating Oil

Many homes in the Milwaukee area are heated with oil-fueled furnaces. Oil heat is a clean, economical and efficient way to heat a home. Oil delivers more heat per unit of energy than other fuels. Obtaining fuel oil and servicing oil furnaces is relatively easy in the metropolitan area.

Telephone

Local telephone service for most area communities is provided by AT&T Wisconsin. For residential connection information, call (800) 924-1000. Some smaller telephone companies serve the rural areas of southeastern Wisconsin. TDS Telecom (262-539-2115), for instance, serves southeastern Racine County. In addition, Time Warner Cable offers local and long-distance service through its cable network. For more information about these and other local telephone companies, please refer to the Technology and Communications section of the Business Resource Guide, which is available through the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. Telephone: (414) 287-4100.

Internet Broadband

AT&T offers four tiers of high-speed broadband Internet based on the needs of Wisconsin residents - basic, express, pro and elite. For more information, or to order AT&T Yahoo! High-Speed Internet, please visit www.att.com or call 1-877-WISC-ATT.

Time Warner also offers high-speed Internet through its Roadrunner cable service, which is offered in both a standard and premium plan. For more information, or to order, please visit www.rr.com or call 1-866-520-5983.
