Apartment Living

Each apartment property offers its own ambience and offer a variety of plan designs – from cozy studios to luxury apartment homes. They are equipped with microwaves, washers and dryers, cable and broadband hookups, dishwashers and garbage disposals. Many properties feature activity rooms, exercise facilities and swimming pools.

Furniture Rental

Business people on temporary assignments and corporate professionals relocating to a new area sometimes don’t have furnishings for their new or temporary residence, or don’t want the expense of having their personal belongings packed and moved. Furniture rental companies offer a variety of home furniture, including tables, chairs, sofas and bedroom furniture, as well as finishing details such as artwork, dishes, towels, linens, phones, flat-screen televisions, DVD players and microwaves. A team of designers can enter a residence and transform it into a home that fits the individual’s tastes and needs.

Short-Term Leases

One-year leases are standard in the Milwaukee area, but many landlords offer flexible leases or special transfer and buy/build clauses. Depending on the time of the year and the demand for apartments, you might be able to secure a three-month or six-month lease. These short-term rental agreements are usually easier to arrange between September and April, because landlords do not want to have vacant units during the winter months. Landlords typically charge a premium for shorter, six- or three-month leases.

Flexible Leases

Understanding the benefits of catering to extended-stay customers, transferees and people building homes, most apartment properties offer flexible transfer clauses that typically work in one of two ways:

  • The tenant pays a monthly premium for the privilege of breaking the lease with 60 days’ notice
  • The tenant has the same rent, but pays a one-time fee

In each of these instances, property managers expect at least 60 days’ notice and must have a signed document from the employer stating that the tenant is being transferred out of the area. Because these clauses can vary considerably, it is important that you understand the details of all lease provisions before you sign.
