Racing
enthusiasts will find plenty of fast action in Southeast Wisconsin - from Indy
Car contests to drag races. The area is home to no fewer than five race tracks,
including the Milwaukee Mile, the oldest continuously operated racetrack in the
nation. Following is a description of area racetracks:
Elkhart
Lake's Road America:
Featuring a permanent 4-mile road course on 575 acres of the rolling
Kettle Moraine. Located 60 miles north of Milwaukee, Road America hosts
a variety of races including motorcycle, vintage automobile, CART Champ
Cars and SCCA sports car events. Located on Highway 67 in Elkhart Lake.

Great Lakes
Dragway:An IHRA sanctioned race track featuring drag racing for
cars, motorcycles and trucks on a 1/4-mile straightaway from April through
November (maybe longer weather permitting). The track hosts several
national type events featuring jets, funny cars, dragsters, pro stocks,
wheelstanders, nitrous pro modifieds and car-crushing trucks. Located
ten miles north of the Illinois border and 4 miles west of I-94 on Exit

Hales
Corners Speedway: Saturday night stock car racing on a one-third mile clay
oval from April through September. Also hosts occasional Sprint car specials during
the year. Located on Highway 100, one-half mile south of Forest Home Ave. Telephone:

Milwaukee Mile:
Located at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, the one-mile
oval is the nation's oldest continuously operated major speedway. It
hosts several major events, including the Miller Lite 225 CART Champ
Car Race in June and the NASCAR BGN and Truck series' doubleheader on

Slinger
Speedway: Sunday night late-model stock car racing on a high-banked asphalt
quarter mile. Street stocks, Figure-8 racing, late-model and modified racing.
